Tamika Pinder embarked on her legal journey with a strong educational foundation, earning an Associate of Arts Degree in Law & Criminal Justice with Honors from the College of the Bahamas in December 2015. She continued her studies at the University of the Bahamas, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Distinction in May 2019. Tamika then attended the Eugene Dupuch Law School in Nassau, obtaining her Legal Education Certificate in May 2021. Most recently, she earned an Advanced Certificate in Company Law and Practice from STEP in December 2023.
Tamika began her professional career as a Legal Intern at the Court of Appeal of the Bahamas in May 2017, where she assisted Judicial Research Counsel with research for the judgments of Dame Anita Allen, the President of the Court of Appeal at the time. She then joined Peter D. Maynard Counsel & Attorneys as a Legal Intern from June 2018 until October 2021.
In November 2021, Tamika transitioned to the role of Associate Attorney at Peter D. Maynard Counsel & Attorneys. Her experience spans various practice groups, including contractual matters, real estate transactions, company and corporate matters, estate planning, civil litigation, and legal education curriculum development.
Tamika is a STEP Affiliate Member and serves as the Director of the non-profit ADR organization, the International Western Hemisphere Arbitration, Adjudication, and Mediation Centre.
In addition to her legal practice, Tamika is dedicated to volunteer work. She has been involved with Abilities Unlimited in Nassau since 2018, the Seahorse Institute, Great Commission Ministries International, and the Old Bight Children’s Home in Cat Island.
Tamika has presented at the International School of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology’s Tech Week Global Summit on the use of technology in law and has been recognized for her contributions to the legal community.
